Bodiam
Archery
Whilst staying with us at Kester House you can enjoy many activities in the locale from local walks to archery, clay pidgeon shooting, horse riding and art classes. Do you like to try your luck? We can easily check and make bookings for you, subject to availability.
Archery – This takes place at Crowhurst Park just outside Battle some 5 miles away. A weekend of tuition in field and target archery is available.
Art –Mark Fisher and Tony Wynne are two local artists, one works with drawing and acrylic paints and the other in stained glass, both live and work in Sedlescombe. Bespoke weekends for beginners to uncover their talents in both these mediums are available. In addition, individual days can be arranged for beginners and the more experienced artists in either medium.
Clay Pigeon Shooting – A number of shoots are available in East Sussex. In addition, Ashbourne sporting estate near Battle offers a fantastic day out for 6 people to have a fun day clay shooting – no experience necessary.

Horse Riding – On a Saturday afternoon come and join a small group to ride in the glorious local countryside near Battle – tuition given for beginners.
Walking – From the front door of Kester House several footpaths go to neighbouring villages of Brede and Westfield and to Battle Abbey some 4 miles away. In addition for more seasoned walkers the 1066 country trail starts nearby see – www.spanglefish.com/1066countrywalk
This 32 mile trail has been broken down into 6 parts with each having a circular walk attached making 12different walks in all. A book describing these walks and local history, published in November 2011, is also available from us.
